The Frame: What It's Made Of
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is the gold standard for padel racket frames. Lightweight and stiff, it transfers energy efficiently into the ball, giving you harder, more controlled hits. You'll often see it described as 12K, 18K, or 3K — these numbers refer to the number of filaments per bundle. More filaments (12K, 18K) means a finer weave and a stiffer, more responsive frame. Less (3K) means a coarser weave with slightly more flex.

Fiberglass
Fiberglass is heavier and more flexible than carbon, which makes it more forgiving — great for beginners who mishit often (no judgment, we all do). As your game improves, you'll typically want to move toward carbon for added control and responsiveness.
Kevlar
Yes, the same material used in bulletproof vests. In padel rackets, Kevlar is added to the frame for impact resistance and durability. It absorbs shock, prevents cracking on hard hits and edge contact, and adds a slight dampening quality that makes off-centre hits more forgiving. A racket with Kevlar reinforcement simply lasts longer.

The Core: Where Feel Comes From
EVA Foam
EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is a harder foam used in racket cores. Harder core = more power and control, less vibration absorption. EVA rackets suit intermediate to advanced players who want a precise, fast response.
Soft Foam
Soft foam cores produce a springier, more comfortable feel. They absorb vibration better, which is easier on the arm and more forgiving on mishits. Great for beginners and players who prefer cushioning over raw precision.
Hybrid Cores

The Face: Texture and Holes
The hitting surface of a padel racket is almost always rough - a textured finish creates friction on the ball, giving you more spin.
